channeling rockefeller center
for all you greenville folks out there (if you haven’t guessed it), come november 2011 we’ll have a downtown ice skating rink! i just returned from my first press conference where the creation of “ice on main” was unveiled. it was quite successful with news crews and a crowd of people interested in all the hype. there was even synthetic ice set up with iceskaters performing tricks and hockey players demonstrating what’s to come in the future. the idea of a downtown greenville ice skating rink has been something in the mix for years, but it wasn’t until recently that it became a reality. mayor white said it will be one of the largest outdoor ice skating rinks in the southeast.

how do you like my rendering? “ice on main” was one of the first projects i began working on back when i was hired at crawford strategy. the idea is to make it a mini version of new york city’s rockefeller center. There will be a huge christmas tree at the top of the stairs, areas for spectators to look down upon the rink and festive music all around… pretty exciting! ice on main is set to open on november 25, 2011- it’ll be here before you know it…

oh my gosh, hannah. i know im emotional and pregnant, but i seriously almost cried reading that. What an awesome RENDERING!!!!!! I’m so proud of you… that is SO cool!!! I’ve heard about ice on main but hadnt seen what it was supposed to look like and here YOU are drawing it for us 🙂 so awesome ! i cant wait to go! can i ice skate w a huge belly?? haha
